What is a grouped property? A grouped property is two or more home units with their own cooking, washing and sleeping facilities, located on the same site that can be let separately, collectively or in combination with each other without causing inconvenience to the others. An example of this would be a courtyard development of a house and cottage(s) possibly sharing a pool; another might be two or more apartments in the same building. Two properties in the same area with the same owner and postcode that are not located on the same site should not be included in a grouped option.

What are the benefits of a grouped property? Each property unit has its own full page directory entry on bookholidayrentals.com where they are described individually. They are searchable within their own search criteria e.g. three bedrooms sleeping six people, pool etc. together with their own availability and tariff. As a result each property unit will appear separately in the search results, according to its individual accommodation and facilities. This ensures that you get maximum exposure on our site for each of your rental units, and thus maximise the potential bookings for all of them.

By selecting 'create a group property' (free) you will have the opportunity to link your individual rental units, describe and illustrate the benefits of renting the properties collectively or in combination. Your grouped property entry will in turn be listed on our directory; hence it will appear in the search results under the total accommodation offered, thus adding another dimension to the rental possibilities.

Can I create a website to display all of my properties? Yes, your grouped advertisement via it's personalised domain name (URL) will summarise all of your properties individually with tariff, mapping, weather, availability, provide links to each property's full page advertisement and combination letting potential.  It will have additional functions including a choice of display looks and a photo gallery (an additional nine photos), direct access via the world wide web and up to four personalised e-mail addresses. Typical cost for this service with two rental units is £167 per annum.

How do I price my group property website option? A typical example of two rental units on one property would be: 1st property £99 + 2nd property £99 + domain name £40 = £238 per annum. The group page is free

How do I get started? We suggest first time users print this page for reference or return here for guidance.

You are going to create a group property page (potentially your website home page) and the individual rental unit pages. We are going to start with the rental units and build the group page from them. Each new property and the grouped property is allocated its own property number. All editing is done with reference to each property number.

Step 1. Register if you have not already done so. Proceed to my profiles then to 'add new property'; select 'full page advertisement' option (£99). We suggest you add the principle property first. Follow the instructions on how to add your property. Ensure you utilise fully all the options available, paying particular attention to quality photos, accommodation, rental rates and availability. Now navigate to preview and publish. Preview your advertisement and edit if necessary. You are not obliged to publish your advertisement now, you can continue to create your other properties.

Step 2. Return to 'my profiles' then click 'add new property'; select 'full page advertisement' (£99) our system will recognise you are entitled to the reduced price. To reduce your work load and unnecessary repetition of basic details use the 'Duplicate property' tool. Now edit the second rental unit description ensuring you use a different index photo (first one) and change the others to reflect the different accommodation for the unit to be added. Ensure you update rental rates and availability for this property. Proceed to preview and publish, edit if necessary. You are not obliged to publish your advertisement now. You can continue to create any other properties. Future editing will be done to each property via its own property number.

Step 3. If you have additional properties to add complete step 2. for each property.

Step 4. Return to my profiles then to 'add new property'; select 'property group' then tick the option box to add a URL (both shown only when you have eligible properties) click continue. You will note your grouped property page (free) has been allocated its own property number. Repeat step two for the group property editing to describe the whole accommodation on offer. You will note you are not offered retail rates and availability, these issues are addressed on each individual property. Use the notes on rental rates section to describe the combination potential and proposed rates for the group property. Now go to the 'Property Grouping' tab at the top of the page to link your other properties to this group page. You will be presented with the property numbers eligible to be added to the group. Select and add as appropriate.

Step 5. Add a personalised domain name (URL) i.e. turn your group page into an internet searchable website. Ensure you are editing your grouped property (number top left of the page). Navigate to site control via the tabs at the top of the page. Follow the instructions on this page to select a domain name, layout / theme and personalised e-mail addresses. Preview, when happy, press 'Publish'. You will now be taken to a pro-forma invoice. Review and edit as necessary, you will see you can choose to include all or some of your properties into other short listed indexes (i.e. Golf or Ski at an additional charge), recalculate to see the effect of changing your options. When content, click publish to take you to the payment page. Complete the payment process.

Your advertisements and group page will appear on bookholidayrentals.com immediately, whereas your website via its URL will take up to 48hrs to register and publish on the internet. We will register the domain name and set our servers to recognise it and forward your chosen e-mail addresses to your internet service provider. Congratulations you now have a personalised website and distinctive e-mail addresses.
