La Gentilhommiere sits on the edge of the agricultural hamlet of Bourniquel one of the smallest communes in France.Only four kilometres from Lalinde on the Dordogne and eight kilometres from Beaumont du Perigord an historic bastide town it is secluded without being isolated.Each view from the house affords a different vista with rolling hills, woodland and grazing herds. Within minutes visitors succumb to the peace and tranquility relaxing in the sounds of country life their only disturbance the drone of insects or a distant tractor.
The house is a stylish Perigordian home with all rooms on one level affording easy access for all agegroups.It is a private home let exclusively in the summer months and is therefore well equipped and well maintained. The property is within easy reach of the Bergerac wine route, fascinating medieval villages and countless prehistoric sites. Activities nearby include canoeing and watersports,walking, cycling,horseriding and golf. There are of course the joys of exploring the many local markets and a myriad of cultural and festival events celebrating each season. Without doubt whatever your age or interest the area has much to offer. Visits to St Emilion, Lascaux,Perigueux,Sarlat are easy daytrips well worth the effort. For the adventurous excursions by train from Lalinde allow the visitor to enjoy views normally missed and a welcome rest for the driver.
