The villa is the third of 10 townhouses on a quiet urbanisation on the edge of Competa, a delightful white-washed mountain village in the Axarquia. The living areas are upstairs, with a spiral staircase down to bedrooms, garden and pool. The villa has its own private garden with 6 sunbeds, chairs and covered terrace. The garden gives access to the large communal pool with spacious surrounding terrace and gardens. There is an individual parking space at the entrance for the villa as well as adjacent extra parking.

There are 2 golf courses within easy access at Baviera (19Km) and Anoreta (25KM) and many more courses are available in the Malaga area about an hour's drive away. Immediately opposite the villa is access to the Natural Park with unlimited walking in the mountains, or circular walks to neighbouring villages.

The villa is situated right on the edge of Competa, with direct access on the opposite side of the road to the Natural Park. There are many walks directly from the house into the surrounding hills and Natural Park, as well as walks to neighbouring villages. it is therefore ideally situated, on a proper tarmac road, with no track access and is right on the edge of the village. It is only a short stroll to the village centre, where several cafes, authentic Spanish restaurants and supermarkets are available. despite this, it is very quiet, being on a small urbanisation of 10 townhouses and 12 villas, sitting above the village with spectacular views of the mountains in one direction and down to the sea in the other. On particularly clear days, usually in autumn or winter, it is even possible to see the Rift mountains in Morocco, some 300km away.

There is a large pool, use of which is restricted to those staying at the 10 townhouses and so it is never busy as it is uncommon to find more than 3 of the houses occupied at any one time. (Currently none are lived in permanently)

The villa is set in a small urbanisation of 10 townhouses and 12 villas at the edge of the attractive white-washed village of Competa. It is about 10 miles inland, in the foothills of the Sierra Almijara, at a height of just over 2000 ft, so benefits from spectacular views as well as some pleasant breezes in summer that can take the edge off the Mediterranean heat.

Close by are several other small mountain villages and the coast is easily accessible. Visits to Nerja and its caves, Malaga (Picasso museum, cathedral, Alcazaba and shopping) and Granada are all well worth while. There is delightful country walking through olives, vines and fruit trees as well as more rugged mountain walking.

There is excellent walking in the local hills and mountains, as well as several circular walks encompassing delightful local white-washed mountain villages. Nerja is the nearest sizeable tourist town and has famous historic caves. Granada and the Alhambra are easily visited in a day. The coastal town of Torre del Mar is a holiday resort for the Spanish and has a large number of excellent authentic restaurants, particularly those specialising in seafood.

Tennis, horse riding and biking are all available locally. There are a mixture of large sandy beaches and quiet secluded coves on the coast nearby. Competa produces a local desert wine and it is possible to see this being made in season. There is also a spectacular festival - Noche del vino" in August.
