The cottage is set amidst beautiful countryside approximately 2 miles from the local village of Guern, 10 miles from the historic town of Pontivy and a 45 minute drive from Vannes and 30 minutes to the renown southern coast of Brittany. The location is ideal for outdoor pursuits. It is close to 250 acre forest with an abundance of wildlife and many species of bird life, including the magnificent kingfisher. The property still has many of the original granite buildings, some of which have been utilized for the benefit of the visitors, but still retaining the charm of the country property.
The accommodation comprises one double and two twin rooms, a separate WC and bathroom with shower on the first floor. On the ground floor there is a large fitted farmhouse kitchen, well-equipped with washing machine, dishwasher and microwave; a very comfortable lounge with log-burning stove and cloakroom.There is also central heating for comfortable off-season lets. A cot and highchair are available. There is a satellite TV (visitors will need own cards for encrypted channels) and a small library of video feature films and cartoons. Surrounding the cottage there is approximately 8 acres of meadowland and more formal lawns through which the River Sarre meanders with good trout and pike fishing.The mill leat feeds a large pond in front of the house and whilst swimming and paddling can take place it is advisable to always ensure young children are supervised. Small boats are provided for further enjoyment of the water. There is ample space for outdoor games too. A barbecue and garden furniture are provided and there is badminton and petangue. The latter are shared facilities with THE COTTAGE next door which is also available for renting together with MAISON BLANCHE for large groups.

Walking: there are numerous well-marked paths through forests, along the coast and rivers. Fishing; all types of angling is catered for and daily or weekly permits are available. Golf. Historic towns such as Pontivy, Auray Vannes Josselin and Quimper have retained much of their medieval character and are well worth a visit. The list can go on… THE BEACHES are too numerous to mention in detail. Safe swimming will be found all around the south coast. Try Kerhillio for seemingly endless stretches of sandy beach and dunes. From the eastern coast of Quiberon, the bay of Plouharnel to Carnac, Trinite and Locmariquer you will find clean beaches and sparkling clear water. The coast is refreshingly unspoiled and uncommercialized, the traditional Breton way of life still prevalent. THE GULF OF MORBIHAN is said to have as many islands as there are days in the year! Day trips to the islands are frequent.
