The farmhouse & cottage are situated in the heart of the Cotes de Duras on the Dordogne, Gironde, Lot & Garonne borders. Low cost flights fly to Bergerac, only 30km away. Bordeaux is just over an hours drive. St Emilion is a great day out. The Farmhouse and Cottage are surrounded by 2 hectares of grounds, set at the end of a quiet lane and command lovely views over the surrounding countryside. Enjoy the large fenced pool (12m x 6m with roman steps and large terrace), table tennis, you will find swings and a slide for younger children, 16 foot trampoline and garden JENGA making this an ideal location for families with children. The pool has a fantastic large covered terrace which can be lit on an evening. Under the terrace you will find a number of loungers and an electricity point.
The houses are booked together during the high season (July & August) and available for letting all year. The farmhouse & cottage have ADSL Internet access and the UKTV (SKY free to view). French TV also in the farmhouse, both houses have DVD players. Wine tours (in English) and tastings can be arranged during your stay at a vineyard only 10 minutes away. If you are having a special anniversary - let us know and we can set up some fairy lights or perhaps arrange a chef.
Just 10 minutes away you have Eymet in the Dordogne with weekly night markets during the summer - buy your food and wine from the local traders and wander around the colourful market. During August there is a Medieval festival which takes place along the Dropt valley - it's a wonderful day out - and if you miss Eymet - there are other villages in the area which host the events. Eymet is a picturesque Bastide market town (ironically built by the French to keep the English out all those years ago!) with a good selection of cafe's and restaurants.
In the opposite direction you have Miramont with it's weekly farmers markets. There are a good selection of supermarkets and farm shops where you can call in an get your vegetables (and wine) straight from the producer. Wine tasting is available everywhere - you will be spoiled for choice. We have carried out quite a bit of market research over the years - so please let us know if we can point you in the right direction! Duras is also worth a visit - it has a lovely chateau which you can visit and spectacular views. Canoeing and horse-riding also available locally.

One set of towels (excluding pool towels) and bed linen is included in peak week bookings (otherwise £10 per person ). Cots, high chairs, relaxer chairs and toys available at no additional charge. Discounts are available for periods of 2 or more weeks out of the peak summer season. All bookings run from Saturday to Saturday (these dates may be flexible outside the high season). All gas, electricity and water charges included in the rental during peak, high and medium weeks. Different arrangements operate during low season and longer lets. The farmhouse may be rented on it's own in June and September - contact us for rates. £250 security deposit
